Happy #MakersWednesday, our grown-up version of Show & Tell!

MakersWednesday button

This week I’m sharing a few items that I didn’t make, but they were made FOR me! My love of all things handmade comes from my parents, and this year my dad and step-mother gave me some gifts that I really treasure, because they were made just for me!

My stepmother gave me this gorgeous quilted Christmas tree panel, which has a layer of heat-resistant fabric on the inside so it can be used as a hot pad or trivet. I thought it was so pretty, though, that I hung it on my wall with my other holiday-themed goodies:

And then my dad made me this really awesome necklace – he carved the beads on his lathe, and they’re made out of antlers shed by local deer – how cool is that?!?

He also made one for my daughter using a variety of wood types for the beads.

So, what’s on your handmade holiday wish or gifting list this year? Share it with us on social media and tag it #MakersWednesday!
