Happy Wednesday, Makers! We’re so happy to have you here with us on the day we celebrate the Maker in all of us.

This week, I’ve got a finished quilt to share! In many ways this was NOT my best quilting project – there are several places where the triangle points don’t perfectly match up, and the backing got a bit wrinkled in the process of quilting. But I think my grandmother will love it, flaws and all, and in the end I guess that’s what matters most. I think most of you Makers can probably relate to my need to let go of perfection and just MAKE something already!

The topĀ of the quilt was made largely from my stash, and it’s scrappy and bright and super fun. The back was a bed sheet with a white background and a fun, colorful floral print:

Hello, and welcome to the most creative day of the week! Every Wednesday we take the time to stop and snap a photo of the creative projects we’re working on. We hope you’ll do the same!

This week, I’m sharing a project I recently finished – an owl quilt for my daughter, who is 8:

I used this tutorial to make my star blocks, and then I used a method from this awesome Craftsy class for quilting each block individually before piecing them together with binding (the method is also described in this free video).

For the back of this quilt I used all flannels so it would be extra cozy. It looks like a wild disco floor, and my kiddo loves it:
