What do your goals look like this year?

Today’s topic is Goal Setting. It’s all well and good to have an idea of your goals, but where do you go from there? Let’s find out …

  • Time with Thea gives a quick break-down of how to set a goal that will actually work. It’s all well and good to want to be a millionaire, but that goal isn’t specific enough to take action on it. Thea will help you break it down into a goal you can set and reach.
  • Leah of Fabulously Organized Home goes into even more detail. She’ll ask you to examine the areas of your life where you might want to set goals, along with the things that might have stopped you from reaching your goals in the past. Her angle is more toward keeping your life and home organized, but her method of setting and tackling goals will apply directly to your business, too.
  • This free printable from Buttoned Up will help you list out a goal and break it down into action steps that will help you achieve it. The printable even includes a spot to reward yourself for a job well done.
  • Once you have your goals in mind, I See Amazing has a great way to display them so that you can start working on them one at a time. You probably have all of the necessary supplies hanging out in your house, which is a definite bonus for this DIY project.
  • If you like to keep things short and sweet, how about a rotating goal list? This idea from Cornflower Blue will let you envision your goals one week at a time. If you like to break down a big task into manageable mini-tasks, this could be just the tool for you.

A lot of goal planning experts will tell you that if you hold yourself accountable to your goals by sharing them with someone else, you’re more likely to reach them because you don’t want to have to admit that you didn’t. So, what goals are you working on in your small business right now? How will you stay on track so you can achieve them? Leave us a comment below if you feel like sharing, and we’ll be accountable for each other!
