It’s time for another dose of creative thinking & stretching your brain! Won’t you join us?
This week I’ve been struggling to come up with inspiration for a few Instagram swaps I’m participating in, because the people I’m sending to haven’t given me a lot to work with so far. I sat here feeling grumpy about that for a while, but then finally I let my wheels start turning, and I dug deep into my inspiration well to find something to work with.
Here are the questions I asked myself when looking for inspiration – maybe you’ll find them helpful, too! The next time you get stuck for an idea, grab your journal and write out your responses:
- What do I really WANT to make? What project would make me feel excited to work on it? What gets my juices flowing?
- What can I do WELL? I want this project to show my best effort, so is it the time to try something new, or to stick to a skill I’ve already practiced?
- What would make the recipient (you could insert “customer” here) HAPPY? What will make her squeal with delight when she opens the package? What will she find both useful and beautiful?
- What materials or skills do I already have that I can work with on this project? What else will I need to acquire in order to accomplish it?
So there you have it! May your inspiration always be flowing! If you feel up to it, share what inspires YOU in the comments below, or on social media with the tag #ThinkCreateReflect!
