Happy #MakersWednesday, everyone! It’s time to show & share!

I made my first mini-quilt last month, so it’s ready to show off! I put it together to be a bit of wall art for a swap partner. The design itself (and the quote) is inspired by my recipient’s favorite book, Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta.  I used double-sided fusible interfacing to attach the tree, flowers, and leaves to the background of the quilt, and then I did some machine sewing to hold them down and some hand sewing and embroidery. It’s not the best-looking mini quilt ever, but I’m happy with it considering it was my first!
