Happy #MakersWednesday!

Today I’ve got a finished object to share that was several months in the making! I started these socks in early August of last year, and just finished them last month. My Crazy Monkey socks are ready to wear:

The pattern: Los Monos Locos

The yarn: Regia Fluormania Color

Needles: Size US 1.5

Honestly, I think I just picked the wrong pattern for this project. The pattern itself is written well, and lots of people have enjoyed making it, so it’s really all me on this one. But I’ve realized that for me, I prefer to have a sock pattern that is more interesting than plain stockinette, but also easy to memorize (and preferably purl-free, just to make it that much faster to knit). For me, this pattern with its 8-round repeat was just un-memorizable, and that made it slow going.

This whole project has kind of turned me off from doing socks for a while, but I’m sure I’ll be casting on for another pair soon enough! I usually like to have socks as my purse project, but right now I’ve got some stripey arm warmers in my purse so that’ll have to wait.

So! What have YOU been working on?
