Happy Maker’s Wednesday, everyone!
One of the things you’ll see me post about this year is that I’m participating in a knit-along (KAL): The Next Level KAL from EduKnit. I work for that site as well, and I’m really excited to take my knitting skills up a notch, one pattern at a time.
If you’re interested in joining the KAL, you’re most welcome! Head on over to EduKnit to find out all the details.
In the meantime, here’s my first project: the Mobius Waves scarf pattern by Gwen Bortner:
I’m knitting it out of some of my handspun, which I spun as kind of a gradient (it’s just two colors, green and black). I think the Mobius shape is perfect for this type of yarn because it’s knitted from the center out, so I’ll have a center panel of green framed by black on both edges and I won’t ever have to cut my yarn or start a new ball!
This knit-along is all about advancing our skills, and this pattern marks my first attempt at making the Mobius shape. The cast-on wasn’t the easiest thing I’ve ever done, but it was made much easier by the instructional videos on EduKnit and the step-by-step photos in the pattern itself. I’m really excited to stretch myself as a knitter this year through the #NextLevelKAL!
What are YOU working on this week?
