It’s that time again – the time when we take a moment to pause and do some thinking about our lives & businesses. Won’t you join us for a moment of quiet reflection?
This week marks the end of 2014 – isn’t it amazing? Another year has flown by, at least for me. But before I let it get away altogether, it’s nice to take a moment and reflect on it!
So today, grab a pen and a piece of paper and let’s get to it.
Think about 2014 – make a list of all the good things that happened: moments worth celebrating, goals reached, connections made, days of happiness and joy. Take a moment of gratitude for those days and events, and to carry them forward in your memory to 2015.
Now, write down all the things that weren’t so great about 2014: regrets, things left undone, mistakes made or hard times endured. Take a moment to put those things in the past, and to be ready to leave them in 2014 where they belong (instead of carrying them along like baggage into the next year).
Got your list? Great! Now burn it. The act of burning the paper releases those moments into the Universe; it allows the good moments to float away and be spread all around you while at the same time removing the bad moments and carrying them away from you. It’s a cleansing, meditative act and one that helps you feel grounded and ready to face the next year with a clean slate.
We’ll see you in 2015, Makers!
