Hello, and welcome to Wednesday, which is the day we get to celebrate the Maker in all of us! Happy Maker’s Wednesday, everyone!
This week, I’ve got a finished knitted garment to share, yay!!! I used some of my own handspun yarn (for those of you not familiar with the knitting lingo, that means I took some colorful wool and spun it on a spinning wheel to make the yarn for this project) to knit the Vine Lace Vest pattern. I had a pretty significant difference in gauge from the one called for in the pattern, so I ended up knitting down a few sizes to make it work out. In retrospect, I wish I would’ve made the front panels one size wider (adding one more repeat), since bust darts aren’t really an option for my skill set in this lace pattern and it’s hard to keep the front of the vest from falling off to the sides or riding up. All in all, though, I’m pretty happy with it. Here it is:
So, what have you Makers been up to this week? Put it up on social media and tag it #MakersWednesday so we can all see!
