Welcome to #ThinkCreateReflect, where we slow down at the end of the week and take the time to work through a creative or business-related prompt (or both!). We’re glad you’re here to join us!
This week’s prompt, you have our permission to take a TV break!
What is your favorite TV commercial? Make a list of the qualities that make it great. Now do the same for your least favorite commercial: make a list of what makes it awful.
Now, think about how you can apply this to your own marketing?
Welcome to #MakersWednesday, where we take a mid-week break to celebrate Making. (Did you know, the President declared a National Day of Making? It was a Tuesday, but we’re still pretty excited!)
Do you remember that last week I posted about all the fun I was having knitting the Frisson shawl? Well, now I’ve got a finished picture to show you!
My finished Frisson shawl
I really enjoyed this knit from start to finish, and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of the finished accessory as soon as it stops being so hot here. 🙂
What are you working on this week? We’d love to see! Share a link in the comments below or tag it on social media with #MakersWednesday so we can check out your creations!
Recently we rounded up a variety of handmade notebooks to inspire your creative work. Well, what’s a notebook without something to write on its pages, right? So here we are, back again – this time with a roundup of our favorite finds in the world of handmade writing utensils:
And if handmade pens and pencils aren’t your thing, there’s always the old reliable – my favorite pens are these felt-tip babies, available at any mass retail or office supply store, and my favorite pencils are these (because I like the thicker lead).
What about you – what’s your favorite pen or pencil? Share it with us in the comments below!
Welcome to #ThinkCreateReflect, where we feed your mind and your creative spirit with a writing or creative prompt every Friday. We’re happy to have you with us this week!
This week’s prompt:
Think about your business as a living, breathing person. If your business had an astrological sign, what would it be – and why? Is it stubborn + grounded like a Taurus, or proud + impulsive like Aries? All in good fun of course!

Welcome to Maker’s Wednesday, where we take a day out of our busy weeks to celebrate the Maker in all of us.
This week, I’m having a blast with my current knitting project – the Frisson Shawl by Brittany Wilson. Here’s my progress so far:
I love this shawl because it’s a perfect example of “potato chip knitting.” You know that old commercial for potato chips – betcha can’t eat just one? Well, that’s how I feel about making progress on this shawl. I’m excited to see each new point in the crescent shape emerge, and it’s fun to keep going in each knitting session until I get to the end of a point. Of course, as the shawl grows and the rows get longer, I may change my tune. But for now I am really enjoying the knit!
At my recent knitting retreat, I saw so many women wearing gorgeous shawls that it really inspired me to knit a few more of my own. So stay tuned, because I have a feeling this won’t be the last of my shawls-in-progress that shows up here at #MakersWednesday.
